Artist Grant NAvigation
ABOUT:
A repeat topic of conversation with creative peers is access to resources. While some artists don't know where to even begin to access funding, those who locate opportunities find the process unapproachable. The Artist Grant Navigation project was born to connect artists in Broome and Tioga with grant opportunities, guiding them through the often intimidating grant writing process, and connecting artists to fiscal sponsorship for specific grants. This special project was created to foster a healthier relationship to and understanding of the world of grants as an artist. This project it’s offered for free to artists in Broome and Tioga.
This project is made possible with support from the Community Foundation for South Central New York’s Arts & Culture Fund and via fiscal sponsorship through the Tioga Arts Council.
Since May 2024, this project has:
Supported artists grants that resulted in $31,250 in award funds in Broome and Tioga Counties (so far!).
Offered 6 workshops on grant specifics (grant writing terminology, artist statements, etc.).
Hosted 1 artist + nonprofit networking event to facilitate relationship building with potential parters in advance of grant deadlines.
Provided over 2,000 minutes of one-on-one support through office hours.
